A new $300 piece of luggage was damaged irrepairably (according to the people on the ship in charge of fixing damaged luggage). I talked to the Purser people and filled out forms, etc, that are to be sent to Princess. We know it was ok when we gave it to the handlers at embarkation because we were in it that morning at the hotel. Plus it was pretty hard to miss. Anybody know what the chances are of being re-imbursed?
Greg002, this is a concern of mine. A co-worker of mine had a piece of brand new luggage damaged (though it was repaired) but the damage to hers took place via airline. Was your luggage damaged on or around the ship? If so, which ship and port was it? Good luck on getting it replaced.
Several years ago Carnival slit our garment bag open somehow. I filled out a damage report with a cruise rep at the scene. I had trouble getting any money back by calling on the phone. I finally sent a picture of the bag showing the damage and a magazine picture with the price of a new one to the corporate headquarters. I also sent the form that the rep gave me. I received a check shortly thereafter!
