We paid $22.50 for the soda card on the Island Princess and it covered all fountain drinks the length of the cruise with no gratuities.

No, you do not need to tip with each soda.

One thing interesting we did learn on Caribbean
Princess last we is that Princess does NOT honor
the soda card at Princess Cays. You are on your
own there even though it is a Princess facility. Big
shock for some folks.

If you drink a lot of soda, it's well worth it. I bought one last year and was able to get drinks for not only myself, but my wife. At dinner, the waitors didn't even question if I was ordering 2 soda's. Have fun!

We purchased the soda card (Coke products on our ship) and more than got our monies worth as my DH is a Diet Pepsi addict. I'm sure they'll change the policy now that we have sailed!
They do carefully check your ID card that you carry while on board to be sure there is a sticker indicating that you have purchased the soda plan.
We were told that the card did not cover the soda ordered while eating in the dinning rooms, but we were never checked there. That is why I agree that it wasn't fair not to honor the card on Princess Cay. It's not as if you had any other options.
It does feel awkward not tipping, although no one we handed cash to wasn't grateful. You do need to remind that they are taking ten dollars per person, per day out of your account that covers these tips. The staff does pool all waiter/waitress tips.
Just my two cents,
Manny

Thanks Manny, I totaly agree with about the princess cay. I'm glad we don't go there. I just can't imagine not tipping something, i guess we will play it by ear as we go . Looking forward to this trip it's our first Princess. Thanks again , Carol

I'm pretty sure, on the Carnival Ecstasy when we purchased soda cards, the gratuities were added to the cards at purchase! So two 22.50 cards were $50. i still tipped the person who brought me the soda cause I was sure they wouldn't see that tip...
