Robe in Cabin???

When I went to personalize site for Princess, under preferences they asked if I wanted a robe in my cabin.

What's the deal? Do I pay for this? Or is it just a nicety, as in Asia and some European hotels?

No, you do not pay for it - your room attendant wil bring it for your stay onboard - (they're nice to have to sit out on balcomy, if you have one)!

They let you wear it for your cruise, but if you want to purchase one, you can do that too. I really like having one handy, nice touch, go for it.

Is it terry cloth or light cotton?

Something I can use in place of bath towel as I like to do?

Am sure it is marked with Ship's name so it could be a nice souvenir to buy. Right?

They are fairly heavy weight terry cloth, white, with the Princess logo. They will also have them for sale in the gift shop onboard.

Donna, did you cruise in the winter? Last week ours were thin cotton that still required a towel offing.

Yes, last cruise was in Feb of this year. Didn't realize they used different robes depending on time of year.

Thin cotton on our Panama Canal cruise last year on the Coral. Terrycloth on all our other cruises (Mexico & Caribbean). Go figure? Also, even though I have consistantly indicated bathrobes as a preference on the website, I still have to ask/remind our steward when we get to our cabin. Holland America does this better.

I had filled out the on line cruise questionaire before my last Princess cruise, and it was still necessary to ask the room steward for the robe. This was the same for my wife also. Not to sure what they do with all the information. There is also a section on what type of wine and liquor you prefer. That information doesn't affect you personally either. They do not even ask for a brand, just simply type. Seems to be to general, to be of any substance. Perhaps it's to help them stock the bar or gift shop with the right items for sale?

Just went to the Princess site, opened my cruise personalizer and could not find anything about requesting a robe. Can someone give me a hint as to where this on the Personaiizar??

After your imput on the immagration questionaire, you click on "continue" and you will be asked for personal preferences on your upcoming cruise. This whole section is for people who are actually booked, and have a valid booking number.

On the Princess website in the upper right corner you click on MY Profile. That will take you to the special requests. That is how I did it.
