pre-cruise hotel, Fort Lauderdale

Looking for a nice, clean reasonable hotel near the port. Any suggestions? Our cruise is on 2/12/05, Carribean Princess.

embassy suites. got it for $55 on priceline free breakfast and port shuttle included.

we are on the coral 2/16/2005. Got sheraton airport on price line for $55 very happy with price. reviews say nice hotel with great pool.

can you tell me precisely how you bid to get the embassy?

Can't answer the question about the Embassy because I stayed there with free Hilton points, but another good option is the Amerisuites Convention Center which is close to the Embassy and port, and is clean and reasonably priced.

We bid on priceline and got the Renaissance for $82 for the week before you. It is a 4 * downtown, supposedly right at the entrance to the port. I specified 4* and downtown with a $65 bid and got a counter offer of $82. Their normal price is $200 - $250. Check this out, but I think if you specify 3* and downtown, you have a good chance of getting the Marriott Marina which is supposed to be very good. We're staying at the Embassy Suites post cruise, but we got that with Hilton points.

A few years ago I stayed at the Comfort Inn Suites on Federal Highway. They have an airport/hotel/cruise port transfer. This cruise we are using the Marriott Beach Place Towers.

Jody; the Holiday Inn Express looks a bit rundown. You can do much better for that price.
