Default Diamond Princess - obstructed view?

Would appreciate any info on Emerald deck - FF category - obsructed view cabins. Do they let light in? any differenence in size from other outside cabins? worth it to upgrade to non-obstructed view same deck?

We just had the same type of cabin on Emerald Deck on Golden Princess - it is very similar to Diamond Princess. We only saw part of the lifeboats, and had a great view.

there is also a difference between a partially obstructed view and a fully-obstructed view.
If you have a full obstructed view you will see the tenders when you look out your window.
A partially obstructed view usually means that you will see the bottom of the tender/lifeboats hanging slightly above your window, and you will see the structure that the boats hang from.
