Default Wine bottles checked on the airline?

We want to bring some special wine with us and are not sure the best way to travel with it. We only have a one hour flight to the ship should we check the bottles (6 or 7).?
Do we have to worry about the corks coming in or out and then leaking?

Will we have a problem with the temp. in the bagage compartment? Too Cold or Too Hot?

Will w ehave aproblem bring on the ship in our checked bags or carry on?

Thanks for your idieas...

wine is so iffy when it comes to airplanes, the pressure changes could pop the corks. If you can buy your wine at your port of departure that would be the best bet. Otherwise put it in your carry-on luggage, wrapped well. Princess allows you to bring aboard a reasonable amount of wine and champagne for your consumption.

We too like to bring wine along with us on our cruises. We carry it on board with us when we fly (bubble wrap is great here!)

I bubble wrap wine/champagne, then put it in a plastic bag in the event of breakage/leakage.

Do you check the bottles or just carry them on?

We have always used the carry on boxes that you can buy or get in the wineries and just carried them on with us, with no problems.
Have a great cruise all!!

Problem is < Princess is really fussy about bringing your own liqour on board. My husband had a bottle of Scotch that he had in his carry on confiscated on boarding and returned at the end of the trip. Was he ever mad.

MisVic - Princess allows you to bring aboard a reasonable amount of wine or champagne for your consumption. They do not allow anyother liquor to be brought aboard- you can purchase your Scotch for example from the room service menu - for less then what you would pay for it at home
