Hi Jero20, we cruise the Diamond to Alaska in August, and would be interested in recomendations on Seattle hotels as well. We plan on arriving in Seattle on Wednesday and spending a couple days. Hope everyone has good suggestions.
I stayed at the Marriott Waterfront across from the water this past May when I went to Alaska on the Diamond Princess. It's a very nice hotel, and the rooms have a great view of the water. The only downside is it's way overpriced. Most the hotels right along Alaskan Way, look to be very nice.

Tells you Terminal 30 is where you will go to embark for Princess. http://www.portseattle.org/about/map...overview.shtml
Shows you Terminal 30 in relation to downtown Seattle. Relatively close but NOT WALKABLE with suitcases in tow. Take a cab for about $10 for one person from nearby hotels.
I stayed at the Vance Hotel which is 1/2 block from the Westin. The rooms are small and the hotel is somewhat dated. It's clean, bed was comfortable, quiet area at night, and staff are very couteous. Walked to Farmer's Market, Aquarium, and department stores, and pharmacy for last minute stuff.
On Priceline, the four star option gets you the Sheraton which is in a great location downtown. They take bids just over $100 per night. It was a fine hotel. The Grand Hyatt is also quite nice and has a better restaurant. Both of these are very close to Dragonfish Restaurant which is a great Asian/fusion eatery.
One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle is "The Pink Door." It is very close to Pike Street Market. a must see touist spot.Their extremely fresh whole fish preparations are amazing plus there are very unusal and interesting shows during and after dinner if your timing is right. Plan your rezzies around the show schedule. You won't be sorry.
I can recommend two hotels. One is the Edgewater Inn which is right on Alaskan Way. In the old days you could fish from their windows but no more. But the view of Seattle's
very busy harbor is fantastic.
The other is The Sithx Avenue Inn, which is downtown, has large rooms and is in a nice area. Also, it's cheap!
