Just want to see if anyone is going on this cruise! My girlfriends and I are celebrating our "refusal to turn 30" next year with a cruise! We are so looking forward to it!
Also, if you are booked on this cruise, has anyone gotten a free upgrade? We booked in the II category (I think it is the highest level inside cabin) and I was wondering if you guys think I have a good shot of getting a rebate or free upgrade? Our final payment is due tomorrow, so I doubt I'll get any money back.
Hi Michelle! My hubby and I will be on that cruise and celebrating my 2nd 29th birthday (I'm not looking forward to 30 either!) on Feb 1st. I'll be the one either crying into my pina colada or on my 5th one and living it up! (grin)
As for upgrades, we are also booked in a high inside cabin and believe it or not, requested NO upgrades please. We like where we are on the ship and don't want to be "upgraded" to an outside cabin in the back of the ship on a lower deck. On our cruise last year, we found it was such a great location to be a short jaunt to the pools and lounging decks since that's where we spend so much of our time. Also, it makes it so convenient to head back to your cabin to mix a drink or two!
This is our second cruise and our first on Princess (last one was on Celebrity Constellation) and we're looking forward to a great time! After all, if you have to turn 30, it might as well be surrounded by sun, sand, and the Carribean air!
See you on board!
Brenda.

I don't think we really mind where we end up on our cruise because I highly doubt we will be spending much time in the room! We are all go out and getters so staying in the room is not generally for us. So if they want to upgrade us, we are all for it! I would love to get a balcony, but I know how unlikely that is! I keep checking my cruise personalizer, but to no avail! It's ok though, the key is going with my girlfriends and having a great time! We'll join you for a few pina coladas- although none of us hit the 30 button until later in the year, we are celebrating on this cruise!
See you on the ship. Currently we are in Room A317 right next to the laundromats (hope this isn't a problem).
Did someone say "Pina Colada's"? count us in.
My wife and I will be on the ship as well. We are celebrating her birthday on Feb. 3rd - however it is not 30.... very low 40's.... (I would never give a ladies exact age). We are down on Baja, had to do the balcony.... I always heard once you do a balcony, you can't go back...... and we just did a balcony in August . . . back to the balcony we go!
We are coming from California - near Disneyland. Anyone else coming from here to Houston, than shuttle to the ship?
Planning to be on the ship also. Haven't booked room yet.. Airline employee and I think all will be okay.
Just turned 30 last June. It's not all that bad, but I highly recommend the celebration as this is difinitely a milestone in life!
We're traveling from Alaska into Houston. Does anyone have a recommendation on transportation from Hobby to the terminal? We are thinking shuttle bus or something.
Neptune's Reef and Pool @ 15 minutes after the Life boat drill port side.
My wife and I will be wearing shirts with "Got cruisemates.com?" on them, My wife will be in a purple shirt, I will be in a "loud" color to be determined.
Hi, Michelle - I'm told the ship is just about full - I'm wondering if there's anything to upgrade to! It would be nice - we just booked yesterday. We're long past turning 30 tho. We're taking our 2 sons along (23 & 18). Price was too good to pass on! Got an outside cabin but with an obstructed view. Figured we'd still get some natural light at least. Same price as an inside. I'd hope for an upgrade too, but I kinda don't see it happening considering what's left. We'll just be thrilled to be down in the sunny (I hope!) Caribbean in Jan. rather than back here in St. Louis & the cold & snow! Have a great trip! Carol
I am not on this cruise...Decided to book the same cruise in April.
I just wanted to comment on you lucky folks who are actually having a winter. I live in Houston and today it was near 80 degrees, overcast and HUMID! I am so sick of it. I long for the cold to get rid of this darned wet sticky weather. Not to mention...mosquitos! What the ---? It's late November!
Ya'll please post your reviews when you get back. I'd love to hear how it went.
Thanks,
Barb

We will be there with another couple - Looking forward to meeting some cruiseMates.
We are on the Aloha Deck - near the back - meaning bar and pool
We live in Houston and were so excited when Princess came to Galveston.
See u there
Welcome to the Roll Call. We all lookforward to meeting new friends too. We'll be at the bar on your deck first thing Jan 29th.
This roll call will liven up as soon as my partners in crime get back. Saltydawg should be here tomorrow, she been on a cruise. Hag!!
NO NO Nanette has family at her house and is leaving for Cinni Thursday. So be sure and check back for interesting topics and fun fun fun.
Well, our cruise can't come soon enough! We're getting about 30cm of snow today (12 inches), freezing rain, and snow squalls. There were over 200 accidents this morning on the highway hubby drives to work. I'm REALLY looking forward to the Caribbean weather!
Looks like Nanette is not the only one going to have a white Christmas!

Not going to be on this cruise. I have a date with a surgeon the end of January and should be recuperating about then. But really, the thirties are going to be the best years of your life. You're old enough to be taken seriously by the rest of the adults and you're young enough to still be gorgeous. My thirties and forties were stupendous and they will be for you too. Have a ball!
thanks carole! appreciate the kind words! My girlfriends, Traci and Britt, and I are getting very excited about the trip! I have been emailing back and forth with them just about every day! I did find out from a Princess cruise rep that the ship is most definitely sold out, however, we are marked for a complimentary upgrade if one comes available. I'm not getting my hopes up, but it sure would be nice!!
What is everyone planning to do for their excursions? From the sound of it, NonoNannette, SeaWatcher and SaltyDog are all going to be boozing it up pretty good.
My girlfriends, Traci and Britt, and I have decided to do the following so far:
1) Belize - Cave tubing with www.cave-tubing.com - $45 pp for a 4.5 hour tour. Really looking forward to it.
2) Majahual- seems like everyone says to just take a cab to Majahual and enjoy the beach, massages, margaritas or pina coladas, and shopping! So that is what we intend to do!
3) Grand Cayman -we decided to do Dexter's FantaSea Tours snorkeling tour. Leaves at 1:30 pm and gets back at 5:30pm. $30! 2 locations and stingrays!
4) Cozumel- haven't really decided yet. We might do Paradise Beach or Chankanaab park. I like the thought of swimming with the dolphins, so we might have to go there.
Looking forward to hearing what everyone else is planning!
