By now, I guess we all have our travel documents and are into the countdown before our cruise on Dec. 28th.
We're going to stop and have lunch at a nice restaurant in Galveston before boarding the ship on the 28th, so hope to be aboard around 2-3PM. If anyone wants to get acquainted that afternoon, we could meet in the library around 4 - or the next day, since it is a sea day.
If this doesn't pan out and anyone wants to make contact, we're staying in cabin D-609.
I'm open to just about anything. <grin> I was thinking about the Library, since I thought it might not be crowded and it would be easier for us to find each other. But I'll be where ever we decide.
I think about 30 mins. after the Muster Drill would be good. It's hard to set a time since you never know how long the drill will take. Our last cruise we were still "drilling" when we sailed! DH & I will meet wherever you say. We haven't been on Princess before, so don't know the best place.
CruisnOkie, are you on another site with a screen name similar to a funny yellow sponge? If so, should we all meet together?

Fern - I can tell you with complete authority that the fellow who posts on CC is a marvelous chap and someone I admire! The roll call "over there" is has been slow, but the people who have posted to it sound pretty nice. The invitation to meet in the Wheelhouse has been posted.
Cruisin' Okie,
I thought that "marvelous" guy sounded familiar! Looking forward to meeting everyone. I've counted about 30 people so far on both sites. Hope there are more on this site who are "lurking" and will join us. (Anyone else out there?) Should be fun!

I'm trying to get info. on the "Life Enhancement" programs for our cruise. Has anyone been successful in finding this info.? Also, we will be coming to the Wheelhouse Bar from Caribe forward. What's the best way to get there? Looks like a lot of "dead ends"! Thanks for your help,

Fern, the Grand Princess is pretty easy to get around. Just go down to deck 7 (Promenade) and head aft. The main passageway is on the starboard side. The Wheelhouse is approximately midships. We'll be racing there as soon as we have our PFD's stowed after the muster drill. You muster station will likely be the casino, on deck 6. You don't actually go out to individual lifeboats on Princess during the drill.
Make sure you have comfortable shoes for getting around the ship! It can be a long hike from one end to the other.
Thanks Cruisin' Okie,
It is so hard to tell from the deck plans where there are doors (or if they will be open!). Also, from my experience, some of the "lifts" on other ships don't go to every deck. It can all be very confusing. I guess, from what you said, that we will get to walk DOWN for the muster drill? That would be great! We started 10 minutes early on our last cruise because we had to walk UP so many decks. See you at the Wheelhouse!

Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but I received copies of the Princess Patter from the Nov. 13-20 cruise of the Grand. There were eight complimentary courses each day on that cruise from core subjects: culinary arts, dance instruction, specialist topics, introduction to computers and ceramics.
In addition there were other courses offered for a fee: Using Photoshop Elements, Excel, Power Point, Digital Photography, making a Web Page and Wine Tasting.
I would guess that we will have the same courses, just offered on a different schedule over eleven days. This information should be available in our cabins when we come aboard.
See you soon,
Mike
