Default Cuban cigars

My wife and I are sailing on the Princess again 1/22/05. Recently some friends got me into cigars and I was wondering if anyone who has recently been to the Eastern Caribbean found a reputable place to find Cuban cigars. I'm sure the ship has some overpriced ones but if there is an expert that knows what he's looking for out there, can you give me some advice on where to find some? By the way, I know they are illegal in the US. I just wanted to look at them.
Paul

You should be able to look in any port except San Juan and St Thomas. Oh and yes they are allowed on board. When I was in B.V.I a few years ago they started around $10, and that was the same prices I saw in Mexico and Canada. But then there are others that cost more than $10.
Anyway enjoy looking at them

Suzieb,
Thanks. Why not San Juan or St. Thomas out of curiosity? Just none there, or a big rip off? I've read that most Cubans purchased by American's probably aren't real Cubans, and I'm no expert yet by any means. I figure I can find some help on the ship as well.
Thanks again.

San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas are part of the U.S. --- that's why there are no Cuban cigars to be found.

You can bring cubans on the ship and smoke them on the ship, but customs coming home is where you can get messed up. My husband packed his in his checked luggage (a case of 12) with no problems, but I was a nervous wreck through ship and airport checkpoints. The guy selling them gave us bands to put on the cigars that said Costa Rica instead of Havana, but husband didn't want to bother.
