We are looking at doing the Island Princess LA to Hawaii R/T in January 2006 and we are wondering if the seas are really rough that time of year?
Thanks!

Rob, I have read a lot of reviews, etc, and it seems it's hit and miss. But from what I hear, you might have a day or two of rougher seas. But I just plan on Bonine twice those days. I have *never* read the seas were so rough that the dining room is empty.
You should check into the great pricing for the Cruisemates sailing on the Island for Jan. 6, 2006 ... we booked a mini-suite.

Thanks Harry, that's the one we are looking at. My bf just has trouble sleeping when the boat is really rocky.
Me, I don't mind, I actually sleep better.
Thanks for the info, we plan on booking a balcony room.
Too bad the deposit special is over. Do you know what the cancellation policies are now for this cruise? When would we have to cancel by to get our money back?
Hi Rob!
I'd recommend giving Nancy Bogert a call to get your questions answered. She's almost always at her phone and (if not) will get back to you quickly. She's right on with responses to e-mails as well.
Thanks, I e-mailed her, she replied as follows for anyone who is wondering.
"Deposits are fully refundable until final payment dat 10/23."
Just gotta convince the bf to put a deposit down. = )

Rob , a question about your Carnival Conquest. My sister and husband are taking their 1st cruise on this ship and any "good" things you can tell about it and or tips for them are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
PMM, see my review under the Ship Reviews ----> Readers Reviews section. There is a lot of info in there about the conquest. Also so a search in the Carnival Message Board for "Conquest tips" and I have posted a bunch of info in there as well.
The Conquest is an awesome ship!

We took it for the holiday cruise and as others mentioned, the first day or two out some people had motion problems. My wife, who is prone to such movement, did not have any problem.
