presonal choice dinning times

Dear Cruisemates,

I've heard that Personal Choice Dinning means long waits. If we want to eat between 6 and 7 pm, do we have a better chance of not waiting for a tables ? What are the peak/busy hours for those dinning rooms ?

Thank you for your responses,

Christina

We sailed on the Sapphire in October. When we first boarded we made reservations for eight (two tables for four each) at 5:30 for the entire cruise at Sterling Steakhouse. When we arrived at 5:30 the restaurant was practically empty. When we were leaving at about 6:30, it was just starting to get crowded, but there were still tables available.

You don't mention which ship you will be on. The Sapphire (as well as the Diamond) are a bit different than the other Princess ships in that they have taken the two personal choice restaurants available on the other ships and divided them into four smaller restaurants each serving a themed specialty menu. I believe Sterlings is the most popular of the four, and from what I seen, I don't think you would have had any trouble getting a table there before about 6:30.

Sorry about not naming the ship...we'll be on the Star Princess.

Thank you for the info

We did PC dining on the Golden( sister ship to the Star) and we always dined between 6 and 7 and never had to wait that long( just 10 minutes one formal night when we requested a table for two) . At about 7 it does start to get busier.
We really liked the freedome of PC and recommend it highly.

It can go both ways. If you have a larger party (6 or more) chances are you might have to wait a bit longer for a table to free-up. The dining rooms don't really start getting crowed until after 7pm. You can always make reservations in any of the dining rooms or alternative restaurants to avoid the possibility of having to wait.

Christina, on the Star, we *always* ate at the PC dining room that was below the other ... I think it's on Plaza. A lot of people forgot that there were two. We never had any waits. Usually dining about 7:30

We were just on the Grand, and generally ate around 7:15. Never had to wait more than about 10 minutes, if at all.
