Default Princess or Norweigan

We are experienced cruisers and are trying to decide between the Norwegian Jewel or Star Princess for next January. I have posted this on another board but haven't gotten a response yet. The last two years we did RCCL but need a change. In the past we have always liked Celebrity and Princess, especially the food. We did Norwegian 10 years ago and really thought that the food was not as good as other lines. Any info on the main dining room food or other areas would be appreciated.

Dear Norman, NCL has gone wayyyyyyy down hill. I highly recommend you stick with Princess.
Happy sails,

I'll second the comment. I wouldn't sail NCL for free.

While I have not tried NCL, my t/a whom I trust implicitly - although she is a big Princess fan - said NCL is one cruise line she would never ever recommend booking on. She w ouldn't even give away a cruise on NCL.

On the other hand, I have friends who look for the cheapest cruises, and LOVE NCL, and sail with them exclusively. They take inside cabins, love the dancing (apparently there's a lot of opportunity for dancing), and I know they are not very particular about the food.

From my research, NCL does have very small cabins. It might be a time to try a balcony.

Princess is far better than NCL. We were on 4 NCL's and then switched to Princess. We will be going on our third Princess in May. No comparison! Celebrity and RCCL are also good....better than NCL.

Princess without a doubt. There you know you will be getting a good product. From what I've been told by a travel agent if you stick to the newer NCL not NCL America ships you will be fine. But do you want to be "fine" or do you want to have a fantastic, memorable trip? I have not sailed NCL recently but when we did the Dawn a few years ago we thought the food was the worst of our 7 other cruises.

since NCL has gone to their "FreeStyle Cruising" they have been on a downhill slide. Have been hearing that the Hawaii cruises are the best choice this line has to offer.

By all means, sail with Princess. We have been on the Star once, and the sister ship Golden twice. Wouldn't have it any other way! Happy sailing!

Something is really wrong with NCL. I would stay away. Princess is always consistent and they are good at what they do. I am about to take my 19th cruise on Princess. I will be on the Coral this April 27th, and I am excited. ernie9235@aol.com
