We will be on a cruise out of Galveston over Christmas. Can balcony partitions be removed ( as in the Sun Princess) on side by side cabins so that we can make 1 balcony for 2 side by side cabins? Because it is Easter will there be a higher number of kids and teens? My husband and I are avide snorkelers- any suggestions for ship or privately run excursions for Grand Cayman? Thanks again!
One part of your post said you were sailing over Christmas, the other said Easter. Christmas will be crowded with children. Not sure about Easter, considering it's after spring break time this year probably not as many. Holiday and summer sailings do have more kids than normal school time sailings.
Not sure on the balcony partitions. We've only had inside cabins.
There is a door in the partition between the balconies. The room steward has a key that unlocks the door and it can be opened to create a connected balcony between the two cabins. We were on the Grand in January 2002 and that was the case. We were also just on the Diamond which has the same partitions as the Grand. There were three cabins on the deck below us that opened the partition doors. Looked like grandparents with their kids and grandchildren. They moved between all three cabins/balconies and appeared to be having a great family vacation.
your cabin steward can unlock and open the doors between the balconies, i don't think that the partions come down. You will need something to hold the door open.
In Caymen do you just want to snorkel or do you want to snorkel with the Sting Rays? It makes a difference in suggestions.
