Can anyone offer help with hotel information for Ft. Lauderdale. Am sailing on the Caribbean Princess on 10/15/05. Would like to arrive in FLL on the 14th. Hotel rates have been quoted very high. Would appreciate help from someone. Thank you.
Many people use Priceline for Fort Lauderdale pre/post hotel stays. If you go to biddingfortravel.com the moderator will help you place a bid when you fill out a bid assistance form, it's a free service. Previous winning bids for resorts on the ocean have been in the $90 range, 3 and 4* accomodations in the downtown area have been won in the $75 range (all marriott hotels).
Since you are traveling during hurricane season I think you should be able to get a decent rate on Priceline.
I stayed at the RIverside Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale on East Las Olas Blvd. It's great! The street that it's located has so many great shops and restaurants...so many fun things to do. The hotel is very "boutiquey" but it's not as pricey as the other hotels. They have great breakfasts...and the other restaurants that are on the blvd are all terrific. I know that it's recently been renovated. I've stayed there about four times...each time before I boarded the ship...and a day or two after I get off of the ship.
