Our travel agent assured us that we would have early reserved traditional seating. So, now the deposit is in and we find we are waitlisted at #393 so it looks like personal Choice. We had that on the Sun Princess Panama Canal several years ago and it was AWFUL!!! It was the same deal- our agent neglected to tell us we were waitlisted-told us it would work out- we went to the Maitre D immediatley upon embarkation, no luck, We made a standing reservation for PC but still had to call each day-We waited in line, people were angry , we felt very rushed, people didn't dress as well, our waiters never knew us and vice-versa. We specifically asked about this with our agent, and she said we were confirmed- obviously won't use her again- This was to be a special cruise with my elderly ( aged 83&85) parents and really were looking forward to quality time at a table for four. What are the chances we will get that on the Caribbean with PC dining?
We were supposed to have early dining. We didn't get it either. We went to all the proper people to resolve this with no results. We ended up with personal choice dining and did not like it. You may want to call Princess customer service now and explain to them that you have elderly parents traveling with you and you must have early seating due to their health/medication/diet/etc. Whatever you can find. Good luck and enjoy your cruise. Denny
i agre with Denny - call Princess Customer Service direct since you haven't had any luck with your TA - tell them that you are traveling with eldery parents and see what they can do for you. #393 is not a good number for being waitlisted. Would late seating Traditional be an option??
I think PC dining has evolved and is better on their bigger ships. I was on the Star last year and have friends on Caribbean a few months ago. I loved PC dining. They use two of their huge dining rooms. We went at 7:00PM each night and never waited more than 10 minutes. If we wanted to wait for a table for 2 , that was a problem. One tip on the Grand class ships, go to the PC dining room on the lowest deck. People tend to go to the dining room on the higher deck and lines were longer.
