No need to bring your own Coke or Diet Coke. Buy the card for unlimited soft drinks. Hint: while they will discourage you, purchase only the sticker for your cabin card - not the cheesy plastic cup for the extra fee. You can get just as much to drink and the cup isn't a souvenier to remind you of your cruise.
Both times if we bought the card the first day, we got a free metal insulated Coke cup. I thought buying the card was totally worth it- it was only around $25 for 10 days- and it's not like you're going to want (or be able to) carry a can of Coke with you into dinner. I'm usually a cheapskate but I thought it more than paid for itself, especially with unlimited sparkling water when I'm out in the sun- I went through 4 or 5 a day. If they served Pepsi products, on the other hand, I'd be packing too!
So how much is it if you buy just one soda on board. Dont drink that much soda - but i am thinking it might me worth it to buy a card for the unlimited sparkling water ----
8 Days for me before we sail!!!!!!
Re: Re: Bring your own Diet coke On Grand Princess ?
Seems to me the standard charge is $1.75, including gratuity, for a glass of coke and they give you the can for refills. My problem is I avoid caffeine and they don't carry Caffeine Free Diet Coke, so I bring several 2-liter bottles in the cabin.
Note -- if you try to buy Diet Coke in any of the Mexican ports, you often find Coke Light. Do not be misled into thinking it is the same!! I think it tastes awful and actually poured it out. Be careful what you buy.

I've had no problem bringing solda on my cruises - twice. I just pack it really well in my checked luggage. Wrapped in old towels, & double & triple bagged in heavy plastic bag. And, I flew 2-3 planes to get to my cruise. No leakage. I took 2 liter bottles.
Also, bought bottled water at a grocery store (in Alaska) at every stop & carried on board to drink also - on 2 dif. cruise lines.
