If you have sailed on the Caribbean Princess please advise whether or not there is a Video Arcade. I have conflicting reports as to the video arcade topic. Some information I have gathered indicates that there is no arcade but I called Princess and they say there is, yet it is not indicated in the deck plans. This is a crucial piece of information as it will determine whether or not we choose this ship.
Thanks for your help!
We sailed the Caribbean Princess for Thanksgiving 2004 ... we sailed the Grand (her sister ship the previous Thanksgiving) ... they are NOT identical! There is NO arcade on the Caribbean Princess unless they have put one in since last Thanksgiving. There IS one on the Grand Princess. My son was disappointed (for a minute), but got over it since there were so many Playstations to use (he's 8). It was a great cruise ... all our Princess cruises have been great ... and we're leaving again (on the Star Princess!) next Sunday!
We too we on the CP for Thanksgiving and their was no arcade. I can't imagine why that would be a reason to go or not to go on a ship. If its for the kids, the Kid Zone has tons of playstations ect. and our son didn't miss the arcade one bit. The kid zone was greatly enlarged on the CP and they have tons on things to do.
Just got off the Carribbean Princess over the Easter week Vacation, Loved the ship!!! It was my first cruise, so I don't have much to compare it to. But talked to many people who have been on many cruises and said that the Carribbean princess was one of the best cruises they been on. My son is 14 and we went with 3 other families with boys the same age, we never saw them! lol Sorry to say there was not a arcade, but there is sooo much to do, almost too much and the service was wonderful, along with the food!!!! I miss the food already!
Thanks for the info.To answer your question, we have been on many crusies and so has the family we are planning to go with at Christmas. There are 6 kids, all but 1 is a teenager. It is the youngest that is the arcade addict ( not my child ) playstations and computer games won't do it since he has all of that at home.
On our 7 day March Break cruise this kid spent over $500 in the arcade. Insane I know but the mom is adamant about the ship having an arcade since it is his primary source of entertainment. They have always travelled R.C., the kids on the Explorer, Radiance and Voyager. I am trying to convince them to go on the C.P. but without the arcade I think it will be doubtful. We will have to do that one on our own. Thanks again.
Actually there is an Arcade Room in the CP, but it dosen't have anything, it looks like an storage room. But it has big sign saying Arcade Room, may be they are planning on adding one to the ship, but right now there is non.
I too have got my magnifying glass out and I kind of remember a "kids area" with games on a much higher deck... I've found an area named "The Fun Zone" on Sun Deck, deck 16 aft. As I recall, they do indeed have a few games there, but nothing like they have on the Golden, or the Grand. Perhaps they have added more games since I sailed the CP. (Last Spring) Anyway, I'm almost sure there are a few arcade games located there.
