Default Do a lot of people get real dressed up for dinner and other

I am just wondering if I should bring my Tux or not. If only a few people get real dressed up I will not go through the hassle of bringing it. Can anyone tell me if it gets real dressy? Thanks

It's not necessary to wear a Tux. It is a mix of tux and suit. The rest of time I wear dockers and polo or caribbean shirts for dinner.

Depending on the line, a tux or a suit is usually the order of the day for formal night. To me, it's no more hassle to bring the tux than it is to bring a suit, so I usually take the tux. The exception is when I'll need a suit (but not a tux) for pre or post-cruise activities. In those cases I just take a the suit and make do with it for formal nights. No way I'm packing two suits.

We just finished our Mexican Riviera cruise on the Diamond and I can tell you I was surprised how many men had a tux on. I took a new black suit, as you are hearing there are lots of people who didn't dress up much, it's not like they won't serve you... but it was very cool to see everyone dressed to the 9's... how often do you get to do that?

since you have the tux, bring it. You will find that quite a few gentlemen will be wearing them.

On the Sapphire last October there were some gentlemen in tuxes, but the majority seemed to be in suits. I think either one will do and it's really just a matter or personal preference.

I think the destination might be a factor in the degree of dress you see. In Alaska, we saw mostly Sunday type clothes. In the Caribbean, we saw more dressy clothes. The tux in Alaska would have been the minority, but in the Caribbean was more the norm. Either place there was a mix.
