me and my boyfriend are planning on going on the august 13th 2005 sailing of the caribbean princess to the western caribbean. we are looking for the cheapest travel company or website to book with.. we also are wondering if its smarter to get an oceanview and hope to get bumped up to a balcony..although i really want the balcony, how good are the chances of an upgrade..also, if we get the oceanview, how do we go about callling princess for price changes and getting money back or an upgrade..please help
also, im looking at two airfares that day since we're coming from jersey. would it be smarter to hop on the 640 am flight and get there at 940am or do u think we'd be ok to hop on the 930 am. flight and get there at 1235 pm. i know it usually leaves around 4pm
First, that August cruise will be full and any upgrades will go to long time Princess cruisers. I was upgraded on the Star Princess from an obstructed view to an aft balcony cabin two years ago. But I have sailed 10 times on Princess and this was my third upgrade on them. So if you really want a balcony, and are not a long time customer, book it yourself.
As far as your air goes.... don't cut it too close.. if you're not going to fly in the day before.. definitely take the earlier flight. Even though it's not snow season, there are many other flight delays that can cause flights to be delayed or outright cancelled. You don't want to be running to catch the ship!
