Movies Under the Stars

I am going on the Caribbean Princess in December!! I have never been on a Princess cruise so I am excited...
Does anyone have advise for getting a spot for Movies Under the Star?? I heard they get filled up fast! When do you sign up for it??

Sign up as soon as you get on the ship, we tried the first night and they told us it was booked for the entire cruise! Although heard through other people that most nights you could just go there and most times they were able to seat you. I watched bits and pieces while sunning in the daytime, but never seemed to find time to set aside to watch a movie , was always to much going on, lol, shows and what not. So if your really heart set on it, try and book it as soon as possible, I sorta regret not watching a movie at night.

why do you have to make a reservation to see the movie . I would think the screen can be viewed from all over that sid of the deck. I hope it's not roped off. Dont they use this same deck for other activities as well. What if u just want to lie out on the deck with a drink or just read a book. liked to b informed. san

During the day you can sit anywhere you can find a deck chair! They do have other activities going during the day, so it can be kind of hard to hear the movie (or whatever else they are showing).

At some point (I believe it was 6 PM) they ask everyone to move out of the area so they can cover the chairs and bring out the blankets for the "main" movie. I don't recall ever hearing of making reservations, but I could have missed it. I thought it was 1st come 1st seated.

You can view the screen from the pool deck and from the area above.

We were on the Grand Princess, but I would think things would be similar.
