Default swimming pool to alaska

We have cruised Princess to Alaska three times but never had occasion to check this out (we're in our seventies) We are going again in August, with kids and grandkids, and their first question was "are the pools open and are they heated? Anybody know? We will be on the Crown Princess. Thanks, JIMeeee

The Crown Princess will not be going to Alaska this summer - she isn't even finished being built over in Europe. Can you please double-check the name of the ship you are on - it will make a difference in the answer you receive.

You are right, of course. I was thinking of the Regal, don't know why I wrote Crown. We have sailed 19 times, mostly Princess and still get them wrong...Jimeee

I don't believe the Regal has a covered pool...however when I was on the Sea Princess in May 1999 the uncovered pools were heated; last summer on the Dawn I didn't notice as I stuck to the hot tubs, but did see lots of kids in the pools when it was 60 or above - basically the last 4 days of the cruise. On the last full day, everyone was in the pools as it was really warm outside!

The Sapphire pools - I don't know about but I do know that there is a covered pool on the Sapphire which would make swimming comfortable at any time on the cruise.

What about the Dawn Princess. We are going 5-16th. Is the pool heated. Should my husband bring a swim suit?

Of course bring a suit!!!!
There are hot tubs, and sitting in a hot tub and watching the glaciers slide by has got to be nice!

Are there heated, covered pools on the Coral Princess?

There is a heated, covered pool on the Coral - it is the Lotus Spa pool.

I just returned from an Alaskan cruise aboard the Regal. The pool is not covered, but it is heated. I didn't go in myself, however my teenage nephew and his friends went in a few times and they seemed to really enjoy it.

I believe the pools on the Sapphire are heated, too. I sailed the Sapphire in October, but heating wasn't an issue because it was a very hot Mexican cruise. However, I think I remember reading in the cruise documentation that the pools are heated. One of them is also covered and that is very nice.

Any other tips you can offer on the Regal Alaska cruise? We are going in July.
Thanks!
