My dh and I are planning a cruise to Alaska in September and are trying to decide between Sapphire Princess and Norwegian's Star. We have take NCL's Sun before and loved it. Our cruise to the southern caribbean last week on RCCL's AOS was a disappointment compared to the Sun.
We are 31 & 32 yrs old and like to keep busy all the time. Is Princess a good choice for us? I like the idea of anytime dining. How does this work? Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA
Our daughter, her husband & another couple are going on this cruise this weekend. I hope they will like it. Have heard good things about the Sapphire Princess.
Four of us sailed on the 7/10 sailing of the Sapphire out of Seattle.
The boarding process was a mess. No baggage assistance when we arrived and at least 1500 passangers and their luggage in a line that streatched around two sides of the terminal for about 2 hours until we could check in.
Previous expierence with departing from Lauderdale on Celebrity Summit was a lot better organized and pleasant.
If you can snag one of the few baggage carriers available, do it and you will be put in a shorter and faster line.
Disembarking was another series of lines and crowds though a lot faster.
We were on the 6/19 sailing to Alaska on the Saphhire.
We thought it was a great trip. Food and service were
both excellent. My only advice would be make your
Personal Choice dining reservations as soon as you know
what you want to do each day and get to the shows in
the Princess Theater early to be sure you get a seat.
Our daughter & husband called from Seattle last Sunday when they got off this cruise. They said they had a great time (another couple went with them). They are on a driving trip, so they haven't returned to California yet. I will know more details after we talk to them in person. There are 2 June reviews of this cruise on this site you might read, if you haven't as yet.
