We were last on the Grand in November of 2003 but at that time yes there was a charge. I think all the games were either 50 cents or a dollar. In years prior to 2003 I remember there also being a few quarter games but didn't find any the last time. Also back in 2003 they did have a couple hours when all the games were free for the kids club and sometimes in port they would have 1/2 price specials on some games.
Have fun! We were on the Caribbean Princess last year and again this year and there is no arcade!
yes they do charge for the arcade. There is a game card that you can buy for your kids, it good for so many games, then you can re-new the card, it was cheap, i don't recall the amount, but it worked out better in the long run than feeding the machines cash. Just keep and eye on your kids sign and sail account for arcade charges, limit them to a certain amount, and if they go over that amount, they need to pay you in cash to get the arcade card renewed, that's what we did, and it worked out well.
yes Hope that is how it works, once you get your booking number, go to Princess web site and go to the cruise personalizer section, fill out the information before you cruise, it makes checking in so much easier. You can also request that your son's sign and sail card be used as a room key only, or you can put a limit on his account.
