We are considering sailing on either the Caribbean Princess or RCCL Mariner of the Seas. We have sailed with Princess twice before and RCCL once. Our daughter loved the camp program, but she is at an age know where I am not sure if she will like the camp program. It looks like RCCL has a program where they group kids together that are 12 to 14 years old together, where Princess appears to group 13 to 17 year olds together. Is this correct? Does anyone know what the program is like for a 13 year old girl on either of these ships? Any advice would be appreciated.
We just got back from our first cruise on the Caribbean Princess. We have two daughters, ages 14 and 15-1/2. The absolute best thing about our cruise was that they were constantly busy in the "Off Limits" Teen Center and they had a ball. There were probably 75-100 kids in their age group on the cruise and my girls made tons of new friends. A 13 year old girl would definitely fit right in.
we cruised with another family on the Golden Princess and between us we had 3 teens- 2 boys, 15 & 17, 1 girl 14. They loved just hanging out with other teens at the teen center, playing computer games, playing sports, going to the pool, the hot tub. The guys loved the golf, billards(pool), basketball, volleyball, life-sized chess/checker board, The girl just liked hanging out with other girls her own age by the pool, basically.
I will tell you that all three of them thought that the organized activities were childish. Some kids loved the activites, its all up to your teen.
