My fiancee and I are planning a honeymoon on a Princess cruise and have never been on any cruise ever. I figure it's easy for me to wear a bikini and that's that!
We'' my fiancee has a llittle problem, wanting to wear Speedos for comfort and a better than, but wants some feedback as to the environment for Speedos for men on Carribean cruises. Just curious, is there any difference versus a European cruise?
you will see them, and as Papa Bill stated more often on men who should not be wearing them, but the majority of men wear trunks or board shorts.
Speedos were designed for racing swimmers and it should stay that way - imo.
I wear speedos all the time. Speedos are wonderful for tanning (as those silly board or dork shorts give funny tan lines). Speedos are great for swimming as there's no drag, and no dripping after exiting the water! Wear the speedos!
speedos should only be worn by people who can,was on the sun princess last april and most of the speedos should not have been speedos.I mean Most of the women on the ship worn proper clothing.I mean a 200 pound woman most of the time don't wear a two piece bikini,so I don't see why men who are way out of shape, over weight and in there 60's should wear speedos.we really had fun with it though,if one of us seen a speedo coming we would just tell the others don't look now here comes another one and we would all cover our faces.
I have only seen one man wearing a speedo in all my cruises and personally I really think he shouldn't have been - not too good. Now I would LOVE some eye candy for us girls - there is enough for the boys on board what about us women?? If he looks good by all means BUT be prepared for the women to look look look! Debbie
Wear the speedo if you feel comfortable. Same as a bikini for the gals. I say do what you want. If someone doesn't like it, they can leave and go elseware. It's a big ship. Have Fun and enjoy the cruise.
I loved this topic! The concensus on every cruise (for both men and women) seems to be, "If you got it, flaunt it! If you don't got it, flaunt it anyway!" I have seen some real head turners...and some real stomach turners. The super hairy, overweight guys in speedos don't float my boat, and the hairy, overweight women in thongs are pretty scary but I'm no prize, either! Wear what you want and have a great time!
One helpful idea I might offer to a first time cruiser is this. Some beach/snorkel/swim tours do not have changing areas. If you are not going directly back to the ship and don't want to be stuck in a wet, sandy suit for hours take a very roomy cover-up. Sometimes you can rinse off in an outdoor shower while wearing your suit then dry off, slip on your cover-up and change into street clothes underneath. Guys can accomplish this with a large beach towel. Practice this technique before you go to avoid embarassment in a public area!!
If you are overweight, have a large belly, hairy as an ape then by all means wear speedos that are at least 3 sizes to small----- pull them up in the rear to resemble a thong and tell yourself you look good. Be sure to spend a lot of time walking around the pool and bar area and bend over as much as possible.
And oh yes--- stuff the front with something to hide the little pimple that most speedo wearers have.
