Onboard gift certificates?

Hi all, I have never gone on a cruise, so I don't know much about them. My BIL and sister are going on a honeymoon cruise this fall, and I would love to send them something. I am guessing that I cannot send them a gift or a package to be delivered on the ship because of security reasons? But, I was wondering if maybe we could credit their onboard account with a gift certificate or something along those lines?

Please, if anyone knows what options we may have, or how to go about them, I would appreciate you helping out.

Ella, I've paid for bottles of wine on 2 separate occasions for friends. Neither couple ever received them. Year before last on my birthday on a cruise on Princess my children ordered a bottle of wine to be sent to my room for my birthday, didn't get it either.

Ella, you can send gifts to their staterooms, go to Princess Web Site you will find all the info there, there is also another company that specializes in gifts for cruisers, I can't think of the name, but do a google or yahoo search and you will find it. Its like a Welcome Wagon type thing.
The easiest thing to do is to go to their travel agent and let her make the arrangements.
When you buy these packages yourself you will need their name, ship name, sailing date and cabin number, not sure if you need their booking number - if you want it to be a surprise your best bet would be the travel agent.
