Default New Crown Princess

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had information on the New Crown Princess. I have gone to the Princess page but there is really no info. I was wondering if someone knew where I could look up itineries and deck plans etc. for this new ship. Thanks I appreciate it Cheers Nancy

Yes. Go to www.aaaovscruise.com that is the AAA website for cruises. Pull down Princess for the crusie line then Crown for the ship. The cruise information will then come up. Click on Crown in any of the dates and you will get all the info on Crown including the deck plans.Save that site in your favorites and you can go back to it any time. We are are going on the August 25, 2006 cruise.

Bushwhacker, go to site. on cruise line click on down arrow and select Princess, on ship name click on down arrow and select Crown. then click on search. You will get all the sailing dates and if you click on Crown Princess in any date you will get the ship info. Let me know if you have anymore difficulties.

They're listed alpabetically, and go from Holland America to Royal Caribbean. Ridiculous, isn't it?

I sent an emaik to AAA and asked if they were aware that Princess doesn't show up on their site. Received a reply today from Lynn E. Phillips. "We are aware that Princess is not on our website. They are not a preferred cruise line with AAA Travel."

How about that!

I wrote again, asking why, and here's her reply:

" AAA requires that vendors meet certain expectations.
We want to be able to offer cabin upgrades and shipboard credits
as often as possible. Princess Cruise Line is not participating in
this way at this time, so they are not a preferred vendor.

We will still book them if a client requests it.

Sincerely,
LynnPhillips
AAAInternet Travel"

Ah, well - their loss! :-)

Bushwhacker, I just went to the site I gave above and got all info. On Cruise line scroll to Princess; on ship scroll to Crown; on port scroll to New York. Then click on search, you will then get all sailings out of NY for next year. On any sailing date click on Crown Princess and you will go to another site (AAA of NY) that give all info on Crown including deck plans. Try again.

Thank you for that information lasqua.
papamike & Nancy, perhaps this will explain it. Before I wrote to AAA I put in my zip code. I've just noticed that Lynn's return address is AAA South: --- "On Sun 08/07, Lynn E. Phillips < lphillips@aaasouth.com > wrote:" etc.
I guess it's only their (South) policy not to include Princess.
Mystery solved!
Thanks to both of you for your patience! :-)

I'm very interested in the Crown myself. As I don't fly, NY is fairly convenient. Can't wait to hear what folks have to say about her once she gets in operation.

Papamike,
Have you booked the August 26th sailing yet? If so, would you mind telling what you've booked, and the cost?

thanks

Mulderfx,
We have booked the Aug. 25th sailing on the Crown Princess. We are a family of 18, 10 adults and 8 children. To keep the cost down we booked cabin D, oceanview on the Plaza deck (5). The cost for 2 adults is $3,333. I would have preferred a balcony on the Aloha deck (it is only about $240 more, but cannot buck the family). Are you planning to be on this cruise?

I'm guessing it'll either be the one you're on, 8/25, or 9/3 or 9/12. It's a matter of number of days I can take off from work, but I really want the 9/12 for Grand Cayman. we'll see what the gf wants or what i can convince her of....

if i'm reading right, you're saying Aloha balcony is about $1790 per person? would that be for cat BA? I'll take a balcony, but probably not on Aloha - there were noise concerns on the Caribbean Princess we went on last year

thanks for the info

Looks like the 9/12 sailing is $1,349 per person including port charges but NOT including government fees & taxes. This is for the lowest price balcony cabin. Suite is $200 more per person.

Hi, Papamike here

Muderfx: The prices drop in September so the BA balacony will cost $1,423 per person for the Lido or Caribe decks for the 9/12 sailing. This is total with all port charges and taxes. We did the western caribean last year on the Voyager of the Seas, so we will do Bermuda and eastern next year.

Lasqua: Again prices drop in September, the lowest balcony price I find is $1,350 including all port and tax charges for the 9/12 sailing. This is on the Baja deck.

papamike:
I've noticed that they drop after the summer....especially since the summer has been the only time we can go. Starting next year we are off season cruisers! Of course that depends on college costs for our future non-cruiser. Our next cruise may end up being in a lawn chair in the backyard under the sprinkler.
