Bringing champagne/wine/beer aboard?
Once and for all, are we allowed to bring any champagne, wine or beer aboard? If so, in our luggage, a box, what is reccomended? Also, I understand there is a corkage fee for the wine, is this only in the dining room? Can we bring alcohol into our room, & consume it there? Would that incur a corkage fee just for bringing it on? Can you walk around with a beer? Thank you.

On Princess (our 15th cruise was in August) we brought 8 bottles of Sarah and paid $10 per night to have a bottle opened in the dining room. (We intended to have one in our cabin but alas, no corkscrew) We have brought on champagne and have seen people lugging beer. Cushion your hard liquor and put it in your checked luggage. You can also buy a liquor and mix package for consumption in your cabin...about $15 dollars and the bottle is pretty small. Ask your room steward.

I can attest that they will confiscate hard liquor from your carry-on. When we disembarked at the end of the cruise, there was my Scoresby waiting.

You can also order a bucket of beer (4 bottles in a bucket of ice) for the price of three.

We cruise to Hawaii every Christmas.....hope to see you on board!

That's 5 bottles of beer in a bucket of ice for the price of four.

19 Princess cruises, two more booked. I believe you can take a reasonable amount of wine, beer or champagne on board with you, no problem. If you take wine to the dining room you will be charged a corkage fee. You can order a gift package of a liter bottle of liquor for yourself (or have someone else give it to you) for $22.00 for Vodka, may vary for other types, and it will be available in your room on the day of departure. Call Princess, or look in your pre-cruise literature for your on board gifts. While on board you can order a liter bottle of most liquor from room service at a reasonable price, and it will be delivered in minutes to your cabin, not on the last day of your cruise. Thank god Princess still treats as adults, Holland America runs a distant second. Enjoy your cruise.

If you go to Princess web site or look at your literature it will tell you that Princess allows you bring aboard a resonable amount of wine/champage for your personal consumption. If you want to drink your wine in your cabin, pack a corckscrew in your checked baggage. If you want your wine with dinner, expect to pay the corkage fee.
Princess allows you to purchase bottles of liquor from your room service menu for a reasonable amount.
You may also purchase a bon-voyage gift of liquor to be delivered to your cabin.
Liquor in your carry-on will most likely be taken and given back to you at the end of the cruise

Yes on the wine and champaigne. I took two cases on the 3-5-05 cruise (Grand) with no problem. Boxed up the wine, champaigne, and one bottle of CC in wine shipping boxes, taped them up, put a luggage tag on each and checked them in....No Worries!!

You will be charged a $10.00 per bottle corkage fee at the dining room. No charge for drinking wine in your cabin.

Beer, follow the same as wine and champaigne....Box it up, tag it, check it in.

If you knew what Princess paid for the wine on their wine list, you would bring your own. ($32.00 for a $6.00 bottle of wine) no way. We brought $30.00 bottles of wine and paid the fee.

Just got back from the Caribbean Princess on Saturday. We carried lots of liquor in our luggage, carried wine and champagne with us onboard. We also took 2 cases of water, just put a princess luggage tag on the packs, and it was delivered to our room!! Just do pack a corkscrew if you plan to have wine in your cabin. Take an insulated cup, or a coolie cup with you so your drinks will stay cold!! Also, they only have horrible iced tea, no lemonade or punch, so keep that in mind and pack accordingly!
