Mini Suite Category, what is the ranking of the letters?
How does Princess rank the categories for the mini suites. See below, the prices are all the same but which one is better for me to pick. Please reply ASAP, I want to book immediately. Oh yeah and I want a deck that DOES NOT have exposed balconies. I want one that is covered from above.
Thanks!
Mini Suite with Private Balcony (AE) Suite 824.25 USD
Mini Suite with Private Balcony (AB) Suite 824.25 USD
Mini Suite with Private Balcony (AC) Suite 824.25 USD
Mini Suite with Private Balcony (AD) Suite 824.25 USD

let me try to break it down for you a bit.
E= Empress Deck
A= Aloha Deck
C= Caribe Deck- great deck- would be our first choice- midships deck, most stable.
D= Dolphin Deck- another great deck - uncovered balconies, which are fine, unless you want to sunbathe all natural- you have to stand at the rail, turn around and look up to see your fellow passengers.
B = Baja Deck - another favorite.
Its all about location, location, location when it comes to your cabin catagories, look at the deck plans, see what is above or below your deck, how far you are from the main elevators, or stairs etc.
It appears though that these categories don't apply to the decks like you say on the Grand Princess. The Grand only has mini's on the Caribe and Dolphin Decks I guess?
We are just gonna book a Dolphin deck one. We will have to deal with the uncovered deck I guess. I like to walk out there half nude sometimes though, oh well. I guess everyone above will get a free show.

Rob,
The AD minisuites on the Grand Class ships have completely private balconies. They are at the back of the Emerald deck. I like these very much. If you can, get the very aft one on either side of the ship -- the balcony is larger. I hope you have a great cruise!
There is one cabin left on Emerald deck in the back.
I am going to snatch it up. Harry do you know if these balconies on the Emerald deck are as big as the ones on the Dolphin deck?
Are the lifeboats an obstruction at all when you look towards the front of the ship?

Congratulations Rob! You'll LOVE that location. It's quiet and totally private. You cannot be seen from above or below (no balconies below yours). You will not have obstruction from the lifeboats as your balcony juts out from the ship and the lifeboats are set in a bit. The majority of the rooms on Emerald deck are obstructed view outsides with just a window. The lifeboats are set in next to those windows and are flush with the balconies above them and beside them. I think you'll be happy you chose this room. You may want to be sure to tell your travel agent that you do NOT want an upgrade as chances are it would only be to a mini-suite in a higher category which can only put you on the Dolphin deck with a totally exposed balcony. If you're ok with that, then leave the upgrade option open. Either way -- enjoy your cruise!
