Default FP?cook islands excursions

8) Hi guys: We are planning to cruise FP/Cook islands next summer and I was curious about excursions. Will there be the usual good number of private tour operators waiting for passengers to disembark or should we book witht he ship? Thank you, Larry

Gather you are doing the Tahitian Princess. We did the trip in August 2004 and used mainly private tours. I can't remember all the info but we did make reservations with Marc in Huahine, but otherwise all trips we at the pier side. You may get more info at cruisecritic.com regarding the tour on Huahine. It was really great and ended with lunch with table and chairs in the water. Enjoy the trip. We had a great time

We are cruising on the Tahitian August 15 next year as part of a group from another web site. We usually book our own excursion since it costs leass and is usually less crowded than the ship excursions. From what I have read on various "boards" and web sites, Marc's on Huahine, http://www.huahine-nautique.com/accueilpicnicA.htm (follow the link for Tahitian Princess cruisers at bottom of page) , is a big favorite. Another favorite seems to be Bruno's on Raiatea ( http://www.tahaa.net/index_en.php ). We have booked both of these in advance because space is very limited.

We have put together a web site with lots of info on the trip (menus, daily patters, port of call info, deck plans, etc.) as well as info for people that would like to join us. It's a great source of information, whether part of our group or not! Here's a link: http://www.bctonline.com/~lindac777/
