Default CP reservations for specialty dining

I have read that it is best to make reservations for Sterlings and Sabatini's when you first arrive on the ship. Is it better to call or to go to the actual restaurant location? I have also read that Sterlings is excellent, Sabatini's just okay? Seafood buffet seems to be a winner, is it in the Palms? Thank you all for all of your help!

My friends and I made a reservation for Sterling right after we boarded (we were checking out seating anyway). Booked it for Monday night (2nd sea day) and it was great. Have not tried Sabatinis (hear it's too much food and very slow service). They have a COLD seafood buffet sailing night in Cafe Caribe ... we stopped there for an appetizer kind of thing and then went on to our late seating traditional dinners much later.

Yep,,,CruizNut got it right. Sterlings is excellent for sure. The lovely Mrs. Jones loves the seafood buffet at the aft buffet line (Cafe Carib). They have lots and lots of shell fish, including lobster, shrimp, crablegs, and almost anything else you can think of. I think they had this twice during the seven day cruise. Try it, you'll like it!
See you aboard,
Ken

You can make your dinner reservations either in person or by phone, it really doesn't matter, just do it as soon as you board to get the days and times that you want. I like to do it in person just to see the restaurant and meet the Matire D and staff.

We just sailed the Caribbean Princess (11/19-11/26-05). We tried to call the Concierge desk from our cabin as soon as we boarded but got no answer. The Passenger's Service desk told us that they don't open until 4pm on the day you sail. To make reservations at either Sterling or Sabitini's before 4pm on sailing day, you have to go right outside of the Sterling Steakhouse and make a reservation with someone in person.

We ate at Sterling's twice during the week and it was excellent each time.

Kittarwen:

I meant to say that you have to go to the area right outside of Sabatini's Restaurant (not Sterling Steakhouse) to make reservations for either restaurant.

Sorry!
