Default CAR RENTALS

OK, we decided to go the car rental route does anyone have any suggestions on what islands to rent from and if any to stay away from. Also who to go with in order to get shuttle service from the dock areas. Thanks in advance and I will take all suggestions.

Suggest you try discounthawaiirentals.com. When booking, there's a seperate "icon" to click for pier pickup. It'll let you know if the company you choose offers pier pick up.

All of the islands we visit are pretty easy to tour by car. I've just booked with Thrifty in each spot, and they have pier pick up at each stop.

Alamo does not have a pier shuttle in Honolulu. You have to pick up your car at the airport. A $20.00 cab ride each way. I found that out the hard way in November. Switched to Thrifty after a one way $20.00 cab ride from the ship. We should have just boarded the Thrifty or any other shuttle, all of the drivers seemed to know if there were cars available

We rented from Enterprise on each of the Islands and the only issue we had was Honolulu where we were picked up at the pier but had to drop the car at the airport and cab it back to the pier $20. All other islands picked up and dropped at pier. We called them as soon as we got to the pier and they were there waiting for us. No hassles, nice cars, free miles. Total 4 rentals $150 including gas divided between 2 couples.
