Default question about getting to the canopy tour

We are interested in the Los Veranos canopy tour in PV. How do we go about getting there after getting off the ship? Should we book online with this Company ahead of time? Any additional ifo would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!! (Princess Sapphire 2/25/06)

I booked thru their email address -- info@canopytours-vallarta.com. You can also do it through their website. They will send you the cost and very good directions on how to get to their office. Also things that you should not forget. Just tell them the date, name of ship and ship arrival time.

I reserched this quite abit and ended up booking with the ship because of the hasel of getting to the shuttle drop off. Also if you were to break down and be late for the ship you would be in trouble.

I contacted the Canopy tours place and found out there is 4-5 companyies ofering this type of tour. I could have saved about $40.00 per couple by booking online but was told you needed to take a 20 minute taxi to get to the shuttle pick up.

We chose the safe way by going with the ship.

Ask any questions I will try to ask.

Rick:

All ship excurions for the jungle canopy are sold out and wait listed (Sapphire Mar 25). I don't mind paying the extra $$ but wonder about my chances of getting on this excursion. I'd hate to miss it totally and wonder if the other companies even have availability when a big ship like this is in port. What do you think?

google Canopy tour and the city you are stopping in. Thats what I did. There is a real nice one that I bookmarked at home and it did not book with the ships so I would think that would be the way to go. If you can't find it I will post tonite. We cruise this wednesday on the Princess Dawn so I will let you know what its like.

This is the one I talked to by email and had no ship business.

I just booked thru Los Veranos for my upcoming 2-25 Sapphire trip.

I became a fan of non ship excursions on my cruise to the MEd last year. These people that are recommended by cruisecritic and other boards depend on word of mouth for business -- if someone misses the ship -- they are sure to get bad publicity. I would really hesitate to book an "unknown" .

Since we leave so early in Cabo -- I have gone with a ship excursion -- but may change my mind if I can find an independant one that leaves the right time.

Yes, you do take a risk when taking non ship tours, and you have to take into account that when making arrangements.

I suggest anyone frequent cruisecritic.com if they haven't already -- the information from past passengers is invaluable.

If you aren't comfortable making your own arrangements -- its probably not worth it for you --

after we waiting for 30 min. for an early morning tour for a family who decided to sleep in a few extra minutes,-- that cut our tour short -- I'm not a fan of ship's tours. You really do spend alot of your time waiting for people to board busses.

Just got back from the my cruise on the Dawn and the Canopy Tour was the coolest thing I have ever done. I felt safer up in the trees on those little platforms than I did on my balcony on the ship. I would recomend it to everyone. In Cabo we did the Chilion Bay snorkel tour which was also excellent. the crew also made it a whale watching tour which was great.

Hope this helps
