If you have never been on a Princess cruise, my first cruise was on the first sailing of the Caribbean Princess and I am hooked! You have to get their fettucine alfredo, so delicious...never had it before and cannot find one that is as good as their's. It is on there everyday menu...

The first time you visit the buffet lines, you'll think the thing is a total mess. That's until you find out that they don't wait in line for the entire buffet. You walk up to what you want, and take it, instead of waiting for a line to get there. It looks like everyone is going every which way at first, but you'll find it works really well, and it's a lot better than the "line up" thing.
You'll love MUTS. It's a blast.

We sailed the CB last September, and are going again April 22nd. We LOVE the Caribbean Princess!! The ship is gorgeous!! We had the best time, and can't wait to go back. I don't think you can go wrong with the CB. I think you will all have a great time!! If anyone has any specific questions, let me know...I'm happy to answer any questions at all!!

Hi! We got to the pier at around 11:30 am, and had to wait for around 45 minutes to get onboard. We were one of the last groups to get off the ship, at around 10ish, due to having a later flight. Hope that helps!

Hi Wally! Yes, there is an ATM...and it just happens to be in the casino!! You can also get cash against your shipboard card in the casino, but there is a 3% service fee. Hope that helps, and let me know if I can answer any other questions.

After sailing twice on the Grand Princess twice, the Caribbean Princess was a disappointment. Maybe because it was the maiden voyage. The food (quality&selection) was not good at all. The bathrooms are some of the smallest I've seen in all of my cruises.
The ship itself was nice. The staff was friendly. We chose to do the personal choice dining. Mistake, confusion in the dinning room when trying to get a table, long waits for a table, then once you were seated the service was poor. We could not make reservations earlier in the day prior to dinner because of a malfunction in the phone system.
We had a balcony room on Aloha deck. The room was nice besides the tiny bathroom as I said earlier. Though the room seemed smaller than on the Grand Princess.
Like I said, maybe it was all maiden voyage gllitches. I have read other post and reviews on later sailing with the same concerns (food & personal choice dining issues).
Have been hesitant to give them another try. I hope you enjoy your cruise, I was just diappointed when comparing it too my previous Princess cruises.

Default First Timer going on Caribbean Princess

I just booked our first ever cruise this week and am worried about what to wear for regular nights (not the formal evenings) in the dining room. Are capris ok? Or would slacks and pantsuits be better?

Any information would be really appreciated as I am already nervous and our cruise is almost 7 months away.

Hi Denise,

On the non-formal, or "Smart Casual" nights, you will see women in sundresses, slacks, capris, skirts, and pantsuits. So I'm sure your capris will be just fine!

Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you!

Default Formal Nights

Dress code for the dining room: Resort casual for non formal nights and formal wear on formal nights. I am a poor country girl, but I have been in a few of the ships dining rooms. They use white table clothes, silverware and it is classy. If I were determined to wear capris I would eat at the buffet.

Default Caribbean Princess

I am going on the CB April 22nd along with 16 other people. We are going to have a blast. I can't wait!! The only thing I am not happy with is that there is no texas hold'em table onboard. Does anyone know if there is a place onboard that it could be played since the casino doesn't offer?

Thanks for the help!

Jenn

I just got back from the caribbean princess that sailed on 5/13-5/20. I had an awesome time. This was my first cruise and now I think I'm hooked. For any of you going on this cruise you MUST go see the 20s Vaudeville revue, and the special appearance by the "Village People." Soooo soo funny.

Default May 31st Sailing

I have been back two days from the Caribbean Princess. I felt like an ant standing next to the ship. It is massive. I have sailed on large ships before, but this one takes my vote for the largest and most efficiently ran ship.

I agree with the above post. The first day all passengers are trying to eat basically at the same time at the buffet. That is the only time that I saw a lot of passengers.

Rollerdonna,
I looked for you everytime I walked around inside the ship. You may have seen me. I wrote notes for my reviews while aboard the ship. Crew members were looking to see what I was writing. They were in luck, I did not have one bad thing to say about the ship or the crew.

I have written a mini review for anyone who would like to know what it was like on the Caribbean Princess. My web site is located at www.twinstravel.net

Thanks BJ

For providing a nice review. We make our maiden voyage on the CP on August 5th.

What was your cabin location?

best regards

Default Cabin Location

My cabin was on Aloha Deck cabin number 437. This location is mid ship and as close to the center as possible.

BJ are you male or female? Some posts you seem female, yet the link was hosted by a guy named Barry. I don't know if I saw you on the ship, what do you look like? The only person, other than myself, that I saw taking copious notes onboard, was a very large man with very long hair, and I seemed to run into him all the time.
