WE are trying to choose between the Coral and the Island Princess for a trip to Alaska in June. Has anyone sailed either of these ships before. I know they are sister ships but was wondering if any advantage over one another. Also was wondering about the arrival time in Anchorage. Do you have to stay up all night so you can disembark at 12:30 A.M. Or do they just wait til later in the morning. Appreciate any help.
Either of the ships are a good choice and almost identical. I have sailed the Island Princess and I found it an excellent choice for Princess. It isn't too large or too small but it still has all the amenities that Princess is known for. Both of these ships were specifically designed for Alaskan and Panama Canal voyages.
You actually dock in Whittier, Alaska. It is about 2 hours from Anchorage. The next cruise does not depart until 9:30 p.m. the next evening. You will not have to disembark until the next morning. You will have to take a cruise line transfer or arrange your own transportation back to Anchorage.
