St Petersburg tours

I am interested in arranging a private 2 day tours in St Petersburg. I found two land tour companies that seem pretty good. Red October and DanRus. Does anyone have experience with either one of these two companies? Red October's private tours do not include a canal ride even though weather permits. Is the canal cruise a worthwhile experience?

Have done the Baltic two times on Princess, but have always done the tours thru them. I have heard good things about Red October.

One to definitely consider, make sure that if you arrange a private tour company, that Visas are handled by them. When taking a tour with Princess, they arrange for group visas.

Red October is the best! The most bang for the buck and they do everything they say they will do. They are very knowlegable. Use them.

On a trip following this we used DenRus, and they were excellent as well. Being a bit smaller company it did seem easier to customize our tour on the fly with DenRus.

We used Red October last year and had a great tour. No regrets. We did not do a canal tour due to poor weather but I understood that had the weather been better, it would have been an option.

I am doing the Baltic Jewel cruise in May, are you doing a princess shore tour? or are you doing your own tour? doesn't that require a visa?
