We have preferred the traditional dining offering since we always had the same table (a choice location most often) and with just our group of 4. However, we were prepared to experience a 'purpose-built' ship (NCL Dawn) for personal choice dining. Unfortunately, we had to cancel at the last minute. For the record, NCL was our choice since my research seemed to indicate designers had planned a wider array of dining venues under a single personal choice dining format. Unlike Princess which (for example) we experienced just last year on the Sun. Our experience left us traditionalists with the feeling that we were penalized for making that choice by having to commute by a staircase to the lower formal dining room. Obviously someone had to go downstairs because of the kitchen location and it was us. However, to avoid the experience again, we now sail anyone but Princess.
