Default Okay cruisers I need help...

I can't figure out why a catergory AD mini-suite on the Baja deck is almost the same price as a catergory BA, which is a balcony room on the Caribe deck. The 4 mini-suites are located in the middle of the ship by the stairs and the lift, and is about $50 more. To me the mini-suite would be a good deal, or am I missing something? I got this price from Princess Cruise brochure. One last thing, the cruise ship I'm looking at is the Island Princess.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The four that I think you are referring to are B416, B504, B431, and B503. On the deck map they are shown as AF with this description:

"...Category AF staterooms offer same amenities, but have a picture window rather than a balcony."

If this is correct there is no balcony. That is why they are the same price.

One reason is that the balcony is smaller than a balcony on a Cat B due to the "bend". There may also be an obstruction in the forward view. Otherwise the size of the cabin is larger.

If you are looking for a larger cabin it may be a good deal.

The AF cabins are all the way forward.

Take care,
Mike
