Default CruiseVacationOutlet.com

I went to CruiseCompete.com looking for prices for the Coral Princess/Canal in Oct. 06. The best prices were through Cruise Vacation Outlet. Has anyone used this online agency? Their prices were so low that my regular travel agent couldn't come within $170. of their quotes... Please help, is this. "if it looks too good to be true, it is?" or are they on the up and up?

I've used CruiseCompete a number of times, as have a bunch of my coworkers, but haven't used CruiseVacationOutlet. All the others that we've used have been O.K., and we've had no problems. I have noticed however, that if you see a really great quote, that you need to jump on it immediantly, or it may be gone. We love the CruiseCompete site, and have told a ton of people about it. So far, I haven't had anyone come back to me with a complaint, only "Thanks" for the info.
Good luck,
Ken

Default Cruise Vacation Outlet

Used Cruise Vacation Outlet, via Cruisecompete.com for my last cruise. Everything went O.K. and their price was the lowest I could find.

Ummm.... They don't look all that cheap to me. For our 7/21/06 cruise they have 6072.36 for an AC. I booked it for $5350. Then on the Princess site, it was $4678! Got the lower price.

My son's cabin is a BC and it went for $4419. These folks have it for 5222.36. Now here comes Princess with $3506.

YMMV

Wow...that's a great deal. I just checked Princess' website, and it is showing $4678.36 for an AC minisuite on the Golden 7/21/06. So if you can somehow get an AC mini on this cruise for $3506, you should grab it if you can! Have a great cruise!!

That price is for the BC not the AC. But, it is a good deal.

CruiseVacationOutlet came in at $1801.45 for an AB on the Coral Princess for 10/13 cruise of the Canal. No one else could come close.

The $1801 was p.p. "out the door". I wasn't aware of bestpricecruises.com. They didn't give me a price on cruisecompete.com.

If you have cruised with Princess before, keep "poking" at their site (make sure you login). I saved another $1600 because Princess dropped the prices, but NONE of the online sites reflected it. I just let the TA who booked it know and she called Princess and confirmed the lower price.

Can you still get the lower price if you booked with Princess directly? I tried cruise compete got some decent amounts but I am afraid to change also. I have 2 balconies on Baja side by side.

Yes, both Princess and the company that booked you will give you the lower rate. You don't have to change anything. The cabins stay the same, but the price goes down.

In some cases, the deal may be only good for "New Bookings". Mine was not.

Hi Irish Shark,

When you got the lower rate was it between the time you booked and the time for final payment?

I've often wondered if once you are booked they could keep a lower price from showing up! I'm not a computer expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems like it would be easy to do.

I've been "poking" away, but nothing lower yet! Maybe because it's Thanksgiving week?

Thanks,

Fern, yes it was before the final payment. The cruise is 7/21/06. I do this for every cruise/flight/hotel booking. Usually you will find a deal somewhere in that mix. The only one that would not lower the price was Virgin. They gave me a credit for a future flight.

Also, look at other online sites as they do discount as well. I ususally go with one that has the "meet or beat guarantee". If they give you a slick move to try to get out of it, just transfer your booking to the lower priced firm. Some of these folks charge a cancellation fee (I avoid those folks), so if the discount is more than that go for it.

Hi Irish Shark,

I'll keep "poking" around, but since it's a holiday sailing I doubt if I'll find a better price. The last two cruises we were on were holiday sailings and I only saw the prices go up.

Thanks,

Fern, our last cruise was on the Grand (Med & Crossing), the price went down twice. This was also over the Thanksgiving Holiday.
