Default What Time Is Best to Arrive for Check In?

The Golden Princess will be departing from the new pier "Red Hook" in Brooklyn, NY on May 6. It will be the first time Princess uses this pier for embarkation.

Check in begins at 1:00 PM. I will be super anxious to get on as early as possible- just because I am sooooooooo excited.

What would be the earliest I should get there in order to avoid a crowd?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will be in a suite, so I am hoping for priority embarkation, and I am travelling with my mom who is 80 so I am also concerned for a very smooth experience getting onboard.

Send a message via AIM to Kuki

It would be best to get there before the ship sails

For the smallest crowds.. I'd recommend around 2-3 PM

Kuki is right. Best right between the crowds. There will be a big rush early, (noon to one) then a lull, (2 P.M.) and then another rush to board before the ship sails (three and after).
Have a great cruise!

Generally speaking, PRINCESS has always maintained excellent embarkation/disembarkation proceedures. However, Brooklyn is New York, it's a new pier and things may not be "up to speed"(no pun intended.)
So, in order not to be frustrated by what might be a choppy experience, get there late and "sail"(ha! ha!) right on the ship!
If you are a CAPTAIN"S CIRCLE member, platinum status(are you?) you will have priority check-in and that's usually fabulous.
Good luck!

We've been on four cruises. The first three, we got there early and it's just hurry up to wait.

On our fourth, because of circumtances, we could only get there one & half hour after the opening. It was the best embarkation, no waiting, no line up and a very pleasant embarkation.
