First, ENJOY your vacation. Your first cruise is always the best IMO. You have no expectations and nothing to compare it with and it's just magical, from the moment your taxi pulls up to the dock and you view your monstrous ship fpr the first time.

Second, DO report back here and give us the details of your cruise experience. I am sailing on Golden in 21 days and am eating up all info. I can get my hands on. Not a whole lot out there on this ship.

Have fun and savor each moment!!

I just found this email..thanks for the warm wishes..and yes! Lots of umbrella drinks! We had a wonderful time! The ship was lovely, crew wonderful...(especially our steward and all the fun bartenders)...and the islands were beautiful. We shopped, beached, drank lots of rum, toured, and swam with dolphins...what more could anyone ask for! My favorite island was Grenada...lovely people and beautiful beaches..and again yummy rum punch! To everyone that heading out on their cruise Happy Sailing! :!: LOL

We're off

We sailed the Golden in 2003 (Eastern). We had 30 family members for son's wedding at Megan's Bay, St. Thomas. A once in a lifetime cruise and they had a gorgeous wedding cake served that evening on Golden. Cost was $30 and it had whipped cream roses and was served with sterling silver. Have a wonderful cruise.
