anyone got any great ideas for best way to get to the ship on the way in and to the hotel after the return? is cab prohibitively expensive? are there enough cabs available when we return?
no room in our cabin, sorry. the princess cruise does not dock in town dock where the shuttles are. it's at freeport way out of town - of course. all of their docking is not to my liking. wish i had gone on HAL. they park right in town everywhere!
When we cruised to Copenhagen, we booked the hotel at the Airport, I think it is a Marriot. It is a lovely hotel and has a walkway that connects it to the airport. Also at the airport is the train to downtown which is very convenient. Then we just got ship transfers to the Airport and it was very easy.

it's elle here. I contacted my hotel in CPH and they said it costs about $5 by train ($AUD) OR by taxi it's about $40AUD
You might have to see how you feel about the convenience of a taxi compared to a train.

We were on the other end .. so we just got the transfer from the ship to the Airport.. not to a specific hotel... It does seem like it took awhile to go through town .. but maybe that was just my perception at the time. However .. whatever way you travel to the ship .. from the Marriott .. you should know that if any options are from the Airport instead of from the Marriott .. it is not a big deal to take the walkway over and meet transport
