Room service

We recently returned from the Sapphire where we found that Princess charges for room service, and from past experience Carnival doesn't.We found that juice, coffee, and milk are quite expensive.

I think many of the lines may be starting to charge, but it isn't expensive. How much was your juice & coffee?

Hi jack124

From the Princess web site which has just been updated this week:

Quote:

Complimentary Room Service

You can call for personal room service at any time of the day or night. To have continental breakfast delivered to your stateroom, just fill out the breakfast card included in your stateroom portfolio (one is also placed on your pillow) and hang it out at night on your stateroom door. For a full stateroom menu, please see your stateroom portfolio or call the number listed in your telephone directory.
Unless you ordered something not on the room service menu, you shouldn't have been charged.

Like Paul, I'd like to know how much you were charged and for what items.

I know I'll be very disappointed if they start charging extra for room service :( . It's supposed to be included in your cruise fare.

i agree with Fran, if you ordered off the room service menu you should not have been charged. Soda, alcohol, specialty coffee will be extra.

two chocolate milks, coffee and two oj's $14.++, and on the reverse side of the slip, it reminded that tips were not included.

That is very strange! Did you check to see if maybe they gave you the wrong ticket? Even if they were charging, $14.00 would be too much for just those things!

It must have been a mistake... :(

Agreed. Not a single other post on charging for room service. Somebody ordered booze or sodas and you got the bill.

LisaK April 28th, 2006 09:02 AM

that is definately a mistake. That is why it is so important to keep tabs on your bill. If something doesn't seem right($14.00 for milk & coffee would definately send up a red flag for me!) go to the Purser's desk and question it. Keep your receipts, if you had to sign for your roomservice you will have gotten a receipt.
