Default TENDERING IN ALASKA

Do we have to tender on the inside passage southerly routes?

We are on the Sapphire in early July.

Thanks for the info. my better half has a hard time walking and uses a cane. She is concerned about getting ashore..

Default Tendering

I have not been to Alaska yet, going in May but when I asked my TA that question they said the only port that you have a tender is Ketchikan. We just got our documents and that is the only port listed as well. Hope you have a great time

Robbins nester,

Do we have to tender on the inside passage southerly routes?

IIRC, Sitka is the only port where Princess tenders in Alaska. Hoonah (listed as "Icy Strait Point" on some itineraries) is also a tender port, but I'm not aware of any Princess ships calling there.

Norm.

Default Tendering

Rev,

Guess I am wrong, don't know, haven't been yet but my documents very clearly state that we will be tendered in Ketchikan. Could it be the size of the ship that decides that? We are going on the Sapphire?

We were on Celebrity in Alaska (inside passage), had to tender in the morning in Ketchikan. There were some Princess ships docked, and as soon as they left, we were able to pull into their spot.

We've been to Ketchikan 3 times and only tendered once with HAL. Celebrity and NCL docked. I do recall that Carnival and NCL were tendered when we were at the dock.
We stayed tendered all day with HAL. Didn't dock after others left.
