Go to the Princess cruise website and check out the deck plans - you can see where the rooms are located on Dolphin Deck (the "D" cabins). I think the 605 is farther to the back of the ship than the 300's. You should see what's above and below each cabin on the other decks; you don't want to be below any of the dance clubs or bars or exercise rooms, or children's areas, etc - noise factor. Also you can see how close your cabin is to the elevators and common areas.
I have been on Princess a few times and personally prefer being mid-ship or farther towards the back - usually on either Dolphin or Caribe decks. Always had perfect accomodations accessible to most areas - but, some of their ships have split elevator access - because of the central Atrium area - we could not always get to our cabin from frontal areas of the other decks - some of the show lounges stretched through full decks and we had circumvent areas to get the right elevators.....check out the ship deck configurations on the web - you'll see what I mean.

Hello desertskies! I just got off the Caribbean Princess almost a week ago now. I was on Dolphin 524, which was almost directly in the middle of the ship. We got that one because we were told that the middle floor in the middle of the ship was the best as far as rockiness, etc, go. It wasn't far from either elevator, closer to the one in the middle of the ship, but that one used to get so crowded, we'd walk down to the one of the back. which lead right up to the pool area, the cafe's and down to the club fusion so I was happy. Good luck!
