Default Island Princess Aft Mini Suite

Has any one been on the Island in an aft cabin. Going in Dec 06 and would like to know what to expect, as far as noise and motion. It is on the Caribe Deck, last room aft, mini with balcony. ALos - if you book an early sitting for dinner, can you still use the Personal Choice option to eat?

Default Aft Balcony

We had the aft balcony (starboard side) on the Island for the Cruisemates Get Lei'd cruise this past January. Our balcony was great while moving, but I believe it depends on what you are used to. Since the back of the ship does move more than the middle, we did feel it - but, hey! that's why we picked it. We used the balcony constantly. Harry Martin had the port side room and they had problems with unexpected noise (he can elaborate on that).

As to eating personal choice, I'm not sure I understand if you want to give up your traditional seating. The first night on our cruise, we were the only ones at our table and it was a SAD way to start the cruise for us. Luckily, that changed. I'm sure you'll get some expert advice on it, the only thing I can offer is to make sure your wait staff and tablemates know when you are eating elsewhere.

Regarding your question about dining. Since you chose early seating Traditional dining, Princess would prefer that you utilized that seating because there is Always a wait list for Traditional Dining. You may try Anytime Dining, just inform your wait team that you will not be dining with them that evening, they will wait for you, and that will hold up your tablemates. If you try Anytime Dining and really like it, then Inform the Maitre D that you desire to switch your dining from Traditional to Anytime that way it frees up your table to someone on the waitlist. Princess really doesn't want you to flip-flop back and forth, because of the waitlist.

Hi CruzNut24,

From what I've read recently, some of the Maitre' D's are checking cards and not allowing people booked in Traditional Dining to eat in Anytime Dining. (It seems to depend on the Maitre' D.) There are usually so many people who want Traditional Dining that they're not letting people switch for a night or two.

As LisaK said, if you want to switch for the whole cruise you'll probably be fine since there will most likely be others who want Traditional Dining who will gladly take your place !

Anytime Dining is one of the top reasons we book Princess. We love it!

Have a wonderful cruise!
