Default lounge chairs on balconies

On every cruise we've been on, our balcony has had two regular white outdoor chairs---nothing special. Is there any way of getting the lounge chairs that you see in the pictures in the Princess brochures? If so, do you have to pay extra?

Thanks

I have stayed in mini suits and got the lounge chairs. My son had a balcony cabin and only has the chairs.

I've noticed that the types of chairs vary quite a bit on Princess' ships. I've had regular chairs, chairs that the footrest tucked underneath, and loungers. If your particular balcony doesn't have what you want, ask your cabin steward. I've read that people have asked their cabin stewards to swap them out.

If you're looking for the nice wooden cushioned loungers, I believe those are reserved for the suites.

I guess I'll just ask my cabin attendant if we could get one---can't hurt to ask. Or maybe next time we'll try a mini-suite.

drdadio9194,

Most balconies on standard cabins are barely wide enough for a white plastic patio table and two standard plastic patio chairs. If you want a lounge, you'll need a wider balcony.

That said, there are plenty of teak lounges on the promenades of most Princess ships, and nobody bothers you if you use them. I should warn you to use the lounges on the shady side of the Promande Deck, though! Those lounges have a certain magical property. People who use them frequently enter into altered states of conscioiusness in which they become completely oblivious to all of the world's cares and lose all awareness of the passage of time. As a result, the lounge chairs on the sunny side of the Promenade Deck tend to make for the "lobster" look of scarlet skin that's quite painful....

Norm.

No nice wooden deck chairs anywhere on the Regal Princess . Just cheap uncomfortable white plastic lounge chairs
(P.S. We were in a suite on our July Regal cruise)

TheCaribe Deck the largest decks without getting a larger expensive stateroom. We ask the room steward for the the lounges, no problem. We should have asked for the Burgandy cushions used at MUTS. There was enough room for the lounges, 2 folding chairs, 2 regular chairs, table and a small table between the lounges. TheMUTS and large balcony and the Caribe lounge wa the best for me. Oh yeah loved the design of the Lido Deck and spa. All of this we had on the Carib Princess
