We will be taking a 10 day cruise to the Panama Canal. Port stops will be Ocho Rios, Limon,Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Panama. Looking for the best port to purchase liquor. In the past we have always found the best price in St. Martin, but not going there this time! Thanks.
If your cruise calls at Cristobal Pier in Panama you will be allowed into the port area which has shops and bars right next to the ship. There were lots of people buying alcohol and other items in the shops. We had a merry old time - the beers cost $1 from the bar on the dock!!
In Jamaica your best deals will be on local liquers - the coffee based liquers are yummy.
Didn't find the prices in Grand Caymen to be anything special.
Cozumel - Mexican Vanilla - use it for baking, but it is considered liquor. It is so much better than the stuff you get in the grocery store.
Check out the prices in the duty-free shop on board your ship, sometimes you can do better there than on the islands, and you won't have to shlep your booze around with you. Just know that when you reboard the ship, your liquor will be taken from you and held until the end of the cruise. They tag the booze, and you sign for it.
Most cruise lines will match any price you have found in any port as long as you have it in writing.Saves you from carting it arround and makes life much more simple. Will also match any price on watches etc.
