Default first night advice for first timers

hi, we set sail on our first cruise this saturday (sea princess, to quebec), just wondering about our first night on board. Is it usually a low key evening on the first night or will it be a formal night.
looking forward to hearing from you.

Pretty low key. Noo formal night on the first day. In fact some folks whose luggage did not arrive (or arrived late) can go eat the evening meal in very casual clothes.

redsue,

The first evening and the last evening are always "casual" evenings.

I recommend either travelling in clothes that meet the dress standards for a "casual" evening or taking such clothing in your carry-on baggage, as luggage might not get delivered to your cabin until after you go to dinner.

Norm.

I don't think that Princess cares anymore about the dress code. Enforcements was a joke on the Grand and on the Golden.

redsue,

My husband is from England too. Liverpool

Usually the 2nd night out is Formal night.

What ship are you taking? We are dying to go on Cunard Lines.
So far our favourite cruise line is Holland America.

After the 1st cruise you may be addicted! We think it is the only way to have a great vacation at a reasonable price.

Regards, Barbara
